Manday Kaji Shrestha wins first gold for Nepal

KATHMANDU, Dec 2: Nepal's Manday Kaji Shrestha has won the first gold medal for the country in Karate Senior Men's Individual Kata at the 13th South Asian Games(SAG) being held in Kathmandu.

KATHMANDU, Dec 2: Nepal's Manday Kaji Shrestha has won the first gold medal for the country in Karate Senior Men's Individual Kata at the 13th South Asian Games(SAG) being held in Kathmandu.


In the finals, Shrestha defeated Pakistan's  Niama Tullah.  He scored 25.72 points while Niama wins silver with 24.92 points. Similarly, Sri Lanka's Santhara Rasa Balmaj wins bronze.

The game was played at the Karate Hall, Satdobato in Lalitpur.
