Meeting adjourned till Wednesday as PHSC fails to decide fate of acting CJ Joshee

KATHMANDU, July 30: The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) has yet again failed to endorse acting Chief Justice Deepak Raj Joshee as the country’s new chief justice.

KATHMANDU, July 30: The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) has yet again failed to endorse acting Chief Justice Deepak Raj Joshee as the country’s new chief justice.

The meeting of the PHSC held at  Singha Durbar could not decide whether or not to endorse Joshee to the post and has sought more discussion. The next meeting of PHSC is scheduled for Wednesday at 3.30 pm.


According to a source, the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is not in favor of Joshee whereas main opposition Nepali Congress has asked for more time for the discussion. Following the meeting has been adjourned till Wednesday.
