Meeting of ruling alliance ends without agreement on power sharing

KATHMANDU, August 31: A meeting of the leaders of the four parties of the ruling alliance that was held to decide the distribution of ministerial berths among the ruling parties has ended at the Prime Minister's Residence in Baluwatar. The meeting that started at 9AM on Tuesday ended without any conclusion.

KATHMANDU, August 31: A meeting of the leaders of the four parties of the ruling alliance that was held to decide the distribution of ministerial berths among the ruling parties has ended at the Prime Minister's Residence in Baluwatar. The meeting that started at 9AM on Tuesday ended without any conclusion.


The meeting of the top leaders that was aimed at expanding and giving full shape to the deuba-led Cabinet has not yet agreed on the sharing of the ministries among the parties.

The issue of who will get which ministry has become a bone of contention even though there is a consensus to involve all parties equally.


Although it has been agreed that only the chairpersons of the parties will be present in the next meeting, the date of the meeting has not been fixed.
