Mewa Khola Hydropower to supply power in two weeks

KHOTANG, Sept 16: The Mewa Khola Hydropower situated in Khotang district is to see start generating electricity in two weeks, ideally before Dashain.

KHOTANG, Sept 16: The Mewa Khola Hydropower situated in Khotang district is to see start generating electricity in two weeks, ideally before Dashain.


Since all the construction process of the one mega watt Hydropower is over, preparation is underway to bring it into operation before Dashain, according to Sapsu-Kalika Hydropower Company's Managing Director Arjun Rai.

Locals here are elated with the operation of the Hydropower for the one mega watt of electricity is likely to offer them some respite.


The current electricity consumption in the district stands at 2.5 mega watt and with inadequate production of power from the local micro hydro electricity projects, the locals had been reeling under the long hours of power outage.RSS
