Health Ministry warns of taking action against hospitals denying free of cost treatment to COVID-19 patients

KATHMANDU, Nov 19: The Ministry of Health and Population has said it will take action against government-owned hospitals not providing treatment to coronavirus-infected people free of cost.

KATHMANDU, Nov 19: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has said it will take action against government-owned hospitals denying free of cost treatment to coronavirus-infected patients. 


Deputy Spokesperson at the MoHP Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari said that action would be taken against the government hospitals denying free of cost treatment to coronavirus infected people as per the decision of the government.

Stating that the government has already sent circulars and directed all public hospitals to provide treatment to COVID-19 infected people free of cost, Adhikari said the Ministry has decided to treat coronavirus-infected people with symptoms free of cost after bringing an amendment in the health-related ordinance to provide a grant to hospitals carrying out PCR tests and treatment of coronavirus infected people. 


Adhikari said that the ministry would provide compensation to the hospitals for providing free of cost test and treatment facilities to people with COVID-19 symptoms.
