KATHMANDU, May 6: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has issued a three-point directive against the misuse of hospital admissions as a means to avoid lawful custody.
Led by Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, the Ministry has released comprehensive guidelines aimed at curbing this practice.
Transport entrepreneurs in police custody
According to the directives, hospital admission will only be permitted if the individual is genuinely unwell, either physically or mentally, or suffers from a chronic condition requiring medical attention, such as high blood pressure or diabetes.
Decisions regarding the necessity of hospitalization will be made by registered medical professionals, and individuals seeking admission for over 48 hours must provide valid reasons for their extended stay.
