RATNANAGAR (Chitwan), Sept 2: The Muglin road has been obstructed since early morning today after a landslide at Kalikhola area of Chitwan.
Overnight rainfall triggered a landslide at Kalikhola of Chandibhanjyang bringing traffic to a halt since 5:00 this morning, said the District Police Office, Chitwan. Police have been mobilized along with a dozer to clear the debris of the landslide.
The area was also suffering dry landslip and heavy downpour throughout the night made things worse. As a result, hundreds of passenger vehicles leaving for Kathmandu and Pokhara via Chitwan have been left stranded.
It was at this same location where 25 people were killed when a passenger bus veered off the road into the Trishuli river.
The Narayangadh-Muglin road is currently under expansion and even a minor rainfall leads to landslides in the area. RSS
