Mukesh wins silver in 6th TAFISA World Sports for All Games

KATHMANDU, Oct 14: Wrestler Mukesh Kumar Thakur has won silver medal in the wrestling competition held under the 6th TAFISA World Sports for All Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.

KATHMANDU, Oct 14: Wrestler Mukesh Kumar Thakur has won silver medal in the wrestling competition held under the 6th TAFISA World Sports for All Games in Jakarta, Indonesia. 


The 24- year-old wrestler, in his international debut, clinched the medal in the 80-90 kg category. Thakur stood second by defeating his opponents from Pakistan and Iran in the competition.

He had to be content with the silver medal after losing the match to Iranian player. 


A total of 17 players had vied in the wrestling match held on the sidelines of the recreational sports event held between October 6 and 12. 


The 17 players were divided into two groups and the wrestling was played on a knock-out basis. RSS
