Five involved in Gauchan’s murder land in police net

KATHMANDU, Nov 14: Police have arrested those involved in the murder of Sharad Kumar Gauchan, chairman of Federation of Contractors’ Association of Nepal (FCAN), 35 days after the incident took place.

KATHMANDU, Nov 14: Police have arrested five people on the charge of murdering chairman of Federation of Contractors’ Association of Nepal Sharad Kumar Gauchan on Tuesday.


Organizing a press meet at Nepal Police Club, Metropolitan Police Chief AIG Jaya Bahadur Chand said those arrested are Rajiv Syangtang, Shivji Mahato, Mukesh Kumar Pandey, Santoh Gurung and Prakash Budhathoki.

According to Chand, motorcycles stolen from India had been used to shoot Gauchan.


Similarly, five including Samir Man Basnet and Manoj Pun are absconding.


According to Chand, Samir Man was the kingpin behind the murder of Gauchan while Ambar Bahadur Rana was the sharp shooter.


Gauchan was shot dead in Baneshwar on October 9.


Gauchan, who had graduated from Engineering College, Pulchowk, was associated with Danfe Construction P. Ltd.
