KATHMANDU, July 10: The newly-formed party, Naya Shakti Nepal, on Sunday filed an application at the Election Commission (EC) for registration.
A team led by the party’s coordinator Baburam Bhattarai reached the EC to file the application.
The party has claimed a star used in its flag as the election symbol.
The EC said it will provide a certificate within a few days after studying the application.
The former Prime Minister, Bhattari had announced the new party a month ago.
