KATHMANDU, Feb 24: Babu Ram Bhattarai-led Naya Shakti Party Nepal has decided to change the name of the party through the party's upcoming first national general convention.
The party's fourth extended plenum held in Lumbini from February 16 to 24 has decided to change the party's name through its first national general convention. The party has said that the name of the party will be finalized based on discussion among party members.

Issuing a press statement after the meeting on Saturday, the party has stated that it has decided to hold its first national general convention within a year. For that, the party has even formed a committee to prepare for the general convention.
The meeting unanimously reelected Bhattarai as the party's coordinator.
Similarly, the first meeting of the committee for the general convention picked the chiefs of all seven provinces. Rajendra Kirati has been appointed as the in-charge of Province 1, Ram Rijhan Yadav of Province 2, Ganga Narayan Shrestha of Province 3, Rudra Bahadur Gurung of Province 4, Nawaraj Subedi of Province 5, Sarun Baathamagar of Province 6 and Krishna Kumar Chaudhary of Province 7. Similarly, Hisila Yami has been appointed the in-charge of the party's abroad chapter.
Likewise, Raju Nepal has been appointed the coordinator of the party's central office while Prashant Singh has been appointed the spokesperson.
