KATHMANDU, Jan 25: Central Committee Member of the Nepali Congress, Gagan Thapa, on Friday said that his party would take to the street against the government's attitude of suppressing the opposing voices in the country.
Thapa's response comes after today's meeting of the parliament endorsed the much-hyped National Medical Education Bill despite the strong opposition of the major opposition Nepali Congress.
"This communist government has begun the politics of prohibition in the country by endorsing the Medical Education Bill unilaterally. This is totally unacceptable for us," Thapa said adding that the government even bothered to hold the dialogue with the major opposition before tabling the bill in the parliament.

Thapa also accused the Speaker of the Parliament Krishna Bahadur Mahara taking sides with the government in terms of endorsing the National Medical Education Bill. "What factor triggered the speaker to pass the bill in haste? He did not act like the speaker at all today. This is very serious." Thapa said while questioning the speaker's intention.
Central Committee Member Thapa also expressed anger on the government for not addressing the demands raised by Dr Govinda KC.
