Khadka had come victorious in both elections of 2064 and 2070’s constituent assembly elections. This time’s win will ensure a hat trick. Chaudhary, who won in 2070’s constituent assembly elections, is looking forward for second win.

A total of 74,530 votes were cast in the constituency. So far, 34,245 votes have been counted, the Office of the Chief Election Officer said. With 40,285 votes remaining, voters and parties are weighing their possibilities.

If one is to look at the local level elections, the Left Alliance is likely to secure more than 16,000 votes. Khadka has strong influence in eight municipalities and wards. Khadka is also likely to win from identity politics based on ethnicity.

However, Chaudhary’s presence in Triyuga municipality is strong as well, and is also counting on voters from minority communities including Tharu and Chaudhary.

In provincial assembly election, Nepali Congress and the Left Alliance are leading in 1(B) and 1(A) respectively.
