KATHMANDU, Sept 9: Mukesh Raj Kafle, the managing director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), has resigned from his post.
Kafle tendered his resignation to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Friday morning. “Kafle submitted resignation during his meeting with the Prime Minister this morning,” Govinda Acharya, press adviser to the PM, told Republica.

“He has not cited any reasons behind his resignation which is yet to be approved.” Minister for Energy, Janardan Sharma, also confirmed Kafle’s resignation.
Sources say Kafle was under pressure to resign after Energy Minister Sharma assumed office four weeks ago.
He was appointed as the executive head of the power utility by the government led by late Sushil Koirala.
