KATHMANDU, Feb 3: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai has said that the Nepal government is all prepared to fight the possible spread of coronavirus.
Attending an interaction organized by Nepal Tourism Board recently, the minister said that no Nepali nationals are infected with coronavirus so far. Bhattarai said that the health desk has already been established at the Tribhuvan International Airport to prevent the spread of coronavirus. "All the concerned government agencies are on high alert to deal with the possible impact of the novel virus," he said.
The meeting was attended by tourism secretary Kedar Bahadur Adhikari, NTB CEO Dr. Dhananjay Regmi, high-ranking government officials and representatives of various tourism organizations.

Addressing the meeting, Joint Secretary at Ministry of Health Dr Sagar Dahal informed that there is no serious threat of the virus in Nepal as only one case has been detected positive so far and has been cured.
Minister Bhattarai also shared that a high-level coordination team had been formed to coordinate with concerned agencies and embassies on a regular basis to share updates and take necessary actions regarding the corona threat on the tourism industry.
He also urged all the international travelers to visit Nepal without any hesitation or the slightest fear whatsoever regarding the coronavirus in Nepal as Nepal is the corona free zone and the destination that offers lifetime experiences.
He appealed one and all to promote Visit Nepal Year 2020 with full energy and strength.
