KATHMANDU, August 14: Nepal beat Afghanistan 3-2 in the first friendly played at Army covered hall, Lagankhel today.

KATHMANDU, August 14: Nepal beat Afghanistan 3-2 in the first friendly played at Army covered hall, Lagankhel today.


After losing the initial set to the Afghanis 22-25, Nepal took lead by winning the next two sets 25-17 and 25-21.

The Nepali spikers were expected to finish the game on the fourth set. But they were denied victory by their opponents, who won the nail-biting set by 25-23.


The game went on to the tie-breakers where the hosts romped home with a close 15-13.


The next friendly of the two-game series is scheduled for August 15.
