Nepal, China hold discussions to finalise PTTA

KATHMANDU, July 12: The second consultative meeting between Nepal and the People's Republic of China was held to finalise the Protocol on the Transit Transport Agreement in Beijing, China. 


The two-day meeting that concluded on July 11 also agreed to hold the third consultative meeting between Nepal and China in Kathmandu, Nepal soon, according to a statement issued by the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing.

The Nepali delegation participating in the meeting was led by Chandra Kumar Ghimire, Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, while Chinese delegation by Liu Xiaoming, Vice Minister of China for Transport. 


Other Nepali delegation members include officials from Industry Ministry of Nepal, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. 


Likewise, Chinese delegate taking part in the meeting are officials of various departments of China including Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Public Security, Bureau of Shipping, General Administration of Customs and National Railway Administration. 


Before the meeting, Nepali delegation visited the Tianjin Port on July 9 where they were briefed on the port facilities by Chinese authorities. RSS
