Nepal thrashes the Netherlands as Karan stars

KATHMANDU, Oct 7: Nepal has defeated the Netherlands by four wickets in a nail-biting T20 match held at Al Amerat Cricket Ground Oman Cricket in Oman. 


Nepal, who were struggling hard to reach the target of 134 posted by the Dutch won the match in the final over heroic performance by Karan KC.

KC who remained unbeaten scoring 31 off 14 balls hit 3 maximums and one boundary. He hit a six in the first ball of the 20th over followed by a boundary and a maximum in the third and fourth ball to have the scores level. With a ball remaining to bowl, he provided a thrilling victory to his side. 


Skipper Paras Khadka garnered 33 runs off 41 balls while Binod Bhandari added 26 runs to Nepali scoreboard. Other Nepali batsmen couldn't reach the double-digit mark though. 


Earlier, the Dutch were invited to bat after Nepal won the toss.  Karan KC showed his mastery even in the bowling department who hauled 4 wickets in 3.3 overs conceding just 17 runs. Spinner Sandeep Lamichhane too sent 4 Dutch batsmen to pavilion, however, remained a little bit expensive than that of KC as he conceded 20 runs in 4 overs.
