ANFA Chief Executive Officer and Spokesperson Indraman Tuladhar informed that BFF took the decision as their clubs were reluctant to release players for the friendlies because Bangladesh Football Premier League, the country's top-tier league, is scheduled to kick off from July 24.

“BFF has cited that the clubs were reluctant to release their players as time for the league is approaching and they have to focus on that,” said Tuladhar.

Bangladesh has proposed to host the friendly in last week of August.

Nepal, which had taken the friendly as the preparation for the AFC Solidarity Cup slated for November 2 to 11, had already announced a 21-member squad for the friendly under the captaincy of Anil Gurung.

Meanwhile, Tuladhar informed that ANFA is working to play friendlies with other countries as well.
