Nepal wins Int’l Karate Tournament

KATHMANDU, Jan 7: Nepal has clinched the sixth edition of the International Karate Tournament on Saturday. Nepal won 37 golds to stand first in the tournament.

KATHMANDU, Jan 7: Nepal has clinched the sixth edition of the International Karate Tournament on Saturday. Nepal won 37 golds to stand first in the tournament. Second-placed India won two gold medals, while Bangladesh claimed two silver medals.  Rajan Bholun Tamang and Sagun Pariyar of men’s and women’s categories respectively were declared the best players of the tournament. Sonu Tamang and Salina Gurung were selected as the best men’s and women’s categories respectively in kata.  A total of 150 players from Nepal, India, Japan and Bangladesh had participated in 40 different categories featured in the tournament.
