Nepse slips 0.80 points, while daily turnover increases to Rs 3.797 billion on Monday

KATHMANDU, July 10: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Monday slipped marginally by 0.80 points to close at 2,076.96 points.


The secondary market opened at 2,077.76 points and escalated straight up to the day’s high at 2,102.09 points in the first one hour of the trading. The market, however, went downhill in the remaining trading hours. The index dropped as low as 2,068.5 points in the last half an hour before the market revived again by around eight points to close for the day.

In the intraday trading, 112 listed companies lost while 101 companies added to their market values. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chip companies gained 0.11 points.


Seven trading groups registered as gainers, with manufacturing and processing adding the highest of 53.39 points. Out of six losers, the hotels and tourism index fell the biggest of 103.67 points.


The daily turnover amount increased to Rs 3.797 billion from Rs 3.042 billion on Sunday.


Among individual companies, Soaltee Hotel Limited had the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 331.29 million. Himalayan Hydropower Limited lost the highest of 6.34 percent of its market price, while Rawa Energy Development Limited was recorded the topmost gainer.
