New guideline issued for coronavirus test in Sudur Paschim

KAILALI, June 12: The Health Directorate of Sudur Paschim Province has formulated a new guideline for coronavirus test. The guideline stipulates that those who stayed in quarantine for 14 days and did not develop any symptom of coronavirus can return home.

KAILALI, June 12: The Health Directorate of Sudur Paschim Province has formulated a new guideline for coronavirus test. The guideline stipulates that those who stayed in quarantine for 14 days and did not develop any symptom of coronavirus can return home. 


The new guideline has been issued after the province witnessed 66,000 people in quarantine and faced a shortage of RDT kits used for coronavirus tests.

A circular issued by director of the Health Directorate, Dr Gunraj Awasthi stressed the need for the guideline for the people staying at home quarantine and home isolation with the rise in the number of suspects and shortage of testing kits. 


The circular was sent keeping abreast of the federal health and population ministry, Social Development Ministry, Sudur Paschim province, all local units of the province and all district administrative offices of the province, reads the guideline. 


Those who spend 14 days in quarantine would be sent home and they need to stay at home quarantine for seven more days. Only those who test positive for coronavirus through RDT procedure but not developed symptoms after collecting their swab samples for PCR test will be sent home. 


The first coronavirus infected person from Ghodaghodi Municipality of Kailali has been discharged from an isolation ward constructed by the municipality after he did not develop any symptoms of coronavirus even after 14 days. 


Mayor Mamata Prasad Chaudhary and Health Section Chief Kailash Rawat bade farewell to the 32-year-old man, who first tested positive for coronavirus on June 4 at Dhangadhi Lab, after recovery on Thursday.
