KATHMANDU, May 2: The newly-appointed Chiefs of Nepal Police Dhiraj Pratap Singh and the Armed Police Force Raju Aryal have been conferred with insignia of the Inspector General of their respective police organizations.
Home Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey conferred them with the insignia at an investiture ceremony organized at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday morning.

A cabinet meeting held on May 1 had decided to promote Singh as chief of Nepal Police and Aryal as Chief of the APF after the incumbent chiefs of both the organizations retired after completing 30-year of service with the police organizations. IGP Shailesh Thapa Chhetri and APF Inspector General Pushpa Ram KC retired after completing 30 years of service.
On the occasion, Secretary Pandey expressed confidence that the Inspector General duos Singh and Aryal of both the security bodies will fulfill their key role in maintaining the law and order and ensuring good governance in the country and facilitating the successful conduct of the election in a peaceful and fear-free environment. He also expressed confidence that the new IGP duos would play an important role in the strengthening of their respective organizations.
Newly-appointed IGP Singh expressed commitment to carry out work remaining within the parameters of professional integrity. He said the responsibilities entrusted to IGP by the state would be fulfilled with high professionalism by emphasizing on the career development of the police employees and strengthening of the organization.
Newly-appointed APF Inspector General Aryal said that he would give special priority to human resource development for further upgrading the performance indicators and standards, promote use of modern technology and develop result-oriented working style. He also expressed commitment to move ahead as per the instructions given by the Home Ministry and implement the reform plan initiated by the Home Ministry.
