Obstructed Jayaprithvi Highway reopens

BAITADI, July 1: The Jayaprithvi Highway stretching from Khodape of Baitadi to Bajhang district headquarters Chainpur, which was obstructed due to landslide after incessant rain since Wednesday night, has come back to operation.

BAITADI, July 1: The Jayaprithvi Highway stretching from Khodape of Baitadi to Bajhang district headquarters Chainpur, which was obstructed due to landslide after incessant rain since Wednesday night, has come back to operation. 


The Highway that remained disrupted after landslide occurred nearby Matela came into operation from Thursday evening, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at Bajhang District Police Office, Narendra Chand. "It took time to reopen the road section as landslide occurred in several parts of the highway", he said, adding that dozers were used to clear the debris of landslide.

Earlier, hundreds of passengers were stranded when there was no movement of vehicles due to highway disruption since Wednesday evening. RSS
