Organizations rewarded for climate change adaptation efforts

KATHMANDU, Dec 16: Fifteen organizations have been rewarded the Adaptation at Scale Prize for their innovative efforts in the field of climate change adaptation.

KATHMANDU, Dec 16: Fifteen organizations have been rewarded the Adaptation at Scale Prize for their innovative efforts in the field of climate change adaptation.


Minister for Population and Environment Jay Dev Joshi handed the rewards to the recipient organizations with a cash prize of 10,000 Pounds (Rs 1.3 million) each, amid a function in Kathmandu on Friday.

The organizations were selected by Ideas to Impact, a program funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and managed by IMC Worldwide, as part of its Protsahan Prize program, for their innovative approaches in scale-up climate change adaptation in Nepal from among 59 applicant organizations working in community and private sector. 


Organizations winning the reward are Community Development and Advocacy Forum Nepal (CDAF Nepal), Youth Acting for Change Nepal (YAC Nepal), Manahari Development Institute Nepal (MDI Nepal), Mutual Support Center, National Disaster Risk Reduction Center (NDRRC), Center for Rural Technology Nepal (CRT Nepal), Ithaka Institute for Climate Financing, Care Nepal, Namsaling Community Development Center, CEAPRED Nepal, Machhapuchare Development Organization, Practical Action South Asia, ANSAB Nepal, Dalit Welfare Organization (DWO) and Human Dev and Environment Concern Society Nepal.
