SINDHULI, June 30: Road linking Kukurthakur VDC of Sindhuli with Mirchaiya of Siraha has been damaged by tippers carrying overloaded limestone.

People of Dudhauli Municipality and nearby villages are tired of damaged roads through which they need to travel as inner earthen roads are obstructed in rainy season.

According to locals, hundreds of over loaded tippers carrying limestone for Maruti Cement Industry have caused damage.

“This road was blacktopped just two years ago, due to overloaded tippers it is now ruined.” said local Shyam Dhami.

The 80 kms long road is full of potholes which have made travelling risky. One tipper carries 4 to 5 trips per day, according to a driver.

He said, “We are paid Rs 400 per trip, so to earn more money we try to make more trips driving over speed.”

Maruti Cement Industry, which has been mining limestone since many years, hasn’t paid attention to conserve local rivulets and roads.
