KATHMANDU, March 13: Nepali national cricket team's regular skipper Paras Khadka revealed on Monday that he will not be in the national team to play in the ACC Emerging Cup to be held from March 25 to April 3 in Bangladesh citing poor health.
Paras was not in the starting lineup against Kenya in the ICC World Cricket League match played at the TU grounds, Kirtipur in both matches though he was in the list of final 14 players. Paras had undergone appendicitis surgery on February 18 and he did not join the team's India tour since he was recuperating. He joined the team's training after it returned home on March 3 from India.

“I agreed to be in the team because I was told that my presence in the dressing room would boost the morale of the team,” Paras said. “Nepal will be now taking part in the Emerging Cup and I personally won't be the part of the game. I have already informed this to the team management.”
The emerging cup will feature eight teams in total including four ODI status team -- India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka. However, the ODI teams will have U-23 squad. The remaining four teams will have national teams of association sides Nepal, Afghanistan, Hong Kong and UAE.
