Parliament schedules discussion on road safety on Sunday

KATHMANDU, Aug 26: The parliament secretariat has scheduled a discussion on the topic of road safety on Sunday in response to an urgent public importance notice registered by few lawmakers about two weeks ago.

KATHMANDU, Aug 26: The parliament secretariat has scheduled a discussion on the topic of road safety on Sunday in response to an urgent public importance notice registered by few lawmakers about two weeks ago.



The secretariat included the discussion on the issue in its probable business for the day.



“The discussions has become urgent in view of increasing number of road accidents occurring in various parts of the country claiming lives of people in large number,” read the urgent public importance notice registered by CPN-UML lawmaker Rabindra Adhikari on August 16. “For ensuring safe travel on road, the road safety work plans should be fully implemented.”



Lawmakers Ganesh Kumar Pahadi and Siwaji Yadav seconded Adhikari's proposal.
