Parliamentary committee's four-point directive to DPM Pokhrel

KATHMANDU, April 22: The Industry, Commerce, Labour and Consumer Interest Protection Committee of the Federal Parliament has submitted a four-point memorandum to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Ishwor Pokhrel.


Committee president Bimal Prasad Sribastav submitted the memorandum to the DPM on Tuesday. The memorandum calls for taking prompt action against people indulging in black marketeering of the relief materials, citing the relief materials distributed by the government are substandard.

Similarly, the memorandum calls for taking initiatives to bring home in a safe manner the Nepalis stranded at the border with India due to the lockdown after checking their health as well as for making arrangements for their safe travel to their home districts.


Likewise, the memo has called on the government to make arrangements for storing food grains and foodstuffs for at least three months to avert food shortage during the lockdown period and to prepare long-term plan for the promotion of the agriculture sector.


The Committee also directed the government for the proper management of Nepali citizens on abroad employment who have lost their jobs.
