POKHARA, Sept 26: The tea shops and town halls of Pokhara, a probable headquarters of Province-4, have seen debates and discussions on elections of parliamentary and provincial assemblies taking place in the near future.
With the country moving into new practices, the agenda of future elections obviously has increased activism of the political parties contesting in the polls but general public are also closely observing political and electoral process to that end.
The political parties have stepped up their preparations to select candidates for federal and provincial assembly elections.
In upcoming elections, total nine candidates from each party could become candidates in Kaski district which includes six for provincial assembly and three for election to House of Representative.
Nepali Congress has expedited its preparation for selecting candidates for federal and provincial elections, shared NC Kaski President Krishna KC.
CPN (Maoist Centre) central member and Pokhara-Lekhnath metropolis committee chairperson Biswo Prakash Lamichhane said the parties have taken the coming elections as important opportunity and intensified electoral preparations including selection of candidates.
Main opposition CPN-UML has also speed up its internal preparations in view of the federal and provincial elections.
With the parties immersed into the polls preparation, the Election Commission has also accelerated its ground works for the elections in Pokhara.(RSS)
