PBL, NCCPL sign agreement for digital signature

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Prabhu Bank Ltd (PBL) and Nepal Certifying Company Pvt Ltd (NCCPL) have signed an agreement for the use of digital signature. Issuing a statement, the Prabhu Bank said it signed an agreement with NCCPL to deliver digital signature and certificate to the bank.

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Prabhu Bank Ltd (PBL) and Nepal Certifying Company Pvt Ltd (NCCPL) have signed an agreement for the use of digital signature. Issuing a statement, the Prabhu Bank said it signed an agreement with NCCPL to deliver digital signature and certificate to the bank. PBL CEO Ashok Sherchan and NCCPL Chairman Biplav Man Singh signed the agreement on behalf of their respective companies, according to the statement.

Industry minister calls for harnessing ‘youth power’


KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Minister for Industry Som Prasad Pandey said that the country needs to mobilize its youth power for the nation’s development. Speaking at a recently held in launching of Unibis Biscuits at offices of Nepal Chamber of Commerce in Kathmandu, Pandey also said that optimum utilization of locally available resources was key to accelerate the country’s development. He also pledged to provide support to the private sector and to young entrepreneurs for investment.


Turkish Airlines starts flights to Košice, Slovakia


KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Turkish Airlines Sunday started flying to Košice in Slovakia. Issuing a statement Sunday, the airline said it will fly to Košice three times a week -- on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. For Turkish Airlines, Košice is the 289th destination that its fleet will connect to the rest of the world. The airline says has connected Košice, an urban center in eastern Slovakia, with Turkish capital Istanbul. “This way, Košice will gain strategic importance in the process of building and strengthening cultural, business and tourist activities,” it said.


HBL supports orphanage


KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Himalayan Bank Ltd (HBL) has provided support to the children in an orphanage. Issuing a statement on Sunday, the commercial bank said it distributed food stuff and kitchen utensils to Budhanilkantha-based ‘Children Improvement Association of Orphans in Nepal’ as part of its corporate social responsibility. According to the statement, the bank’s General Manager Sushil Joshi handed over rice, lentils, sugar, oil, salt, pressure cookers, glasses and spoons, among others, to 34 children in the orphanage amid a ceremony held on Sunday.


Scomadi’s scooters in Nepal


KATHMANDU (RE-PUBLICA): Scomadi Ltd, a British company that makes classic scooters, has launched its brand in Nepal. Avasha International, the sole distributor for Scomadi’s scooters in Nepal, said in a statement that Member of Parliament Laxman Rajbanshi inaugurated Scomadi’s launch event on Saturday. It is the only British scooter brand available in the Nepali market Avasha International said in its statement. The company has started selling the 125-cc-engine model in Nepal in seven color options. The scooters have dual suspensions and 11-liter fuel tanks. “Scomadi stands apart from its competitors in terms of looks, features and eye-catching design,” Avasha International in its statement. Scomadi also recently opened an outlet in Pokhara, it said. Scomadi aims to further expand to other major cities in Nepal along with service centers.
