PCCI profits Rs 2.9 million from trade fair

POKHARA, June 24: Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) profited Rs 2.9 million from a trade fair that it organized in December, last year.

POKHARA, June 24: Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) profited Rs 2.9 million from a trade fair that it organized in December, last year.


"We raised Rs 12 million from sponsorships, tickets sale and stall fee. Of the total amount, Rs 9 million was spent in different headings," Bishwo Shankar Palikhe, the president of PCCI, said. "We will utilize the money to create enabling environment for business and investment and social works," he added.

According to Palikhe, PCCI has invested the money to install dividers in places were solar street lights have been erected. Likewise, the money has been spent to preserve drinking water sources, manage crematorium sites, and build washrooms near drinking water sources, he added.


PCCI had organized the trade fair from December 8 to 19 last year at Pokhara Exhibition Center.


"We will give continuity to the event in the coming years as well," he added.
