Pinkathon on Feb 24

KATHMANDU, Jan 25: Leisure Port is set to organize Pinkathon Kathmandu, a marathon event for women, in the capital city on February 24. The organizer at a press meet in Kathmandu on Tuesday informed that the event will include four categories including 3 km, 5 km, 10 km and 20 km race.

KATHMANDU, Jan 25: Leisure Port is set to organize Pinkathon Kathmandu, a marathon event for women, in the capital city on February 24. The organizer at a press meet in Kathmandu on Tuesday informed that the event will include four categories including 3 km, 5 km, 10 km and 20 km race.

 

The race to be held with a view to spread awareness about women's health including breast cancer will begin from the Dasharath stadium Tripureshwar and finish at the same point, according to the organizer. 



The top three finishers in 10-km category will be rewarded with Rs 20,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively while the participants finishing in top three in 20-km cateory will win a purse of Rs 50,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively. Winners in remaining categories will be awarded with gift hampers. 



Meanwhile the organizer also informed that it will bear the expenses for the top two finishers from 20-km category to participate in Mumbai Marathon 2018. 



The event to be organized in association with Nepal Athletics Association (NAA) will use electric device to measure the timing of the players for the first time in the nation's athletics history and the national records made during the event will be given official recognition. The registration fee is fixed at Rs 500.
