KATHMANDU, June 7: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed sadness over the demise of senior musician Ambar Gurung.
Issuing a statement on Tuesday, the prime minister said that he was shocked by the death of a bright star of Nepali music, a campaigner for prosperous Nepali music and composer of Nepali national anthem.
“I pay my tribute to Gurung and expressed my condolences to the bereaved family. Nepali music fraternity has incurred a huge loss with his demise,” PM Oli said in the statement.
Veteran musician Gurung passed away at the age of 78 this morning at the Dhapasi-based Grande Hospital.
