KATHMANDU, July 10: Latest discussions among the top leaders of the three main parties on the issue of removing the obstruction in parliament have ended positively.
The meeting between Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Chairman of the main opposition party, CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli has ended at Singha Durbar.
UML agrees to lift House obstruction
It is said that UML is ready to remove the obstruction in the meeting of the federal parliament. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Oli said, “ It will be found out in Parliament itself.” The meeting of the House of Representatives has been called today at 3 PM. The PM is expected to address parliament, as per the deal reached between the meeting.
Earlier on Sunday, the three leaders had agreed on lifting the obstruction in parliament. The three leaders agreed that the Prime Minister would address the House of Representatives and that the UML would lift the ongoing obstruction in parliament. But the meeting of the House of Representatives was adjourned till Monday after the UML said it did not agree to resume the parliament session later.
On July 3, PM Dahal had stated that Indian citizen Pritam Singh had visited Delhi several times to make him the Prime Minister at a book launch. The PM’s statement courted a lot of controversy. The UML has been demanding the resignation of PM Dahal following his controversial statement.
