KATHMANDU, Oct 4: In yet another crackdown on unscrupulous traders, police have raided a house full of expired food stuff in Kalanki.


A team of police from the Kalimati Metropolitan Police Circle, acting on a special tip-off, raided a house in  Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14 with  expired chocolates, bakery items, flour, among other food stuff. “The smugglers used to relabel the wrappers of the food stuffs,” said Senior Superintendent of Police Shyam Lal Gyawali, chief of Metropolitan Police Range, Teku.

According to Kalimati Police,  a huge amount of expired food stuff has been confiscated from the house. “The authorities are ascertaining the amount of the expired food stuff,” according to police.


In the last few days, police have discovered four houses in the Kalanki area full of expired food stuff.
