MUSTANG, Dec 1: With sharp fall of temperature, the police posts in the upper area of trans-Himalayan district Mustang are being integrated to avoid several problems seen in the winter season.

The merger of police posts is taking place of late with less mobility of the general public in the extremely cold areas when locals have started descending to the warmer areas since the third week of November.

Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) Hariharnath Yogi shared that the police posts based in Ghami, Sukhang and Chhonhup have been temporarily integrated into the police posts in Lomanthang, Chhusang, Muktinath and Jomsom.

The temporary merger has been taken ahead in view of the crisis of energy and difficulty in the transport of the daily essential goods especially during winter season, DSP Yogi said. RSS
