ARGHAKHANCHI, Aug 31: A police team has been mobilized to find a leopard that has created a terror in a human settlement, by killing two children in three days.


Asmita Mukhiya, the seven-year-old daughter of Narayan Mukhiya of Ganchebazaar in Sandhikharka municipality-9 was killed after being attacked by the leopard last night. She was reportedly studying in her home when the leopard pounced upon her, according to police inspector Sujan Raj Bhandari.

Likewise, just two days ago, Lalita BK, the five-year-old daughter of Surya Bahadur BK of Khanchikot in the same municipality was killed in an attacked suspected to be carried out by the same leopard.


Meanwhile, the villagers, reasoning that they have been rendered unsafe, insisted on not taking back the dead body of Asmita until unless the man-eater was killed. The villagers registered an appeal at the district administration for the same.


Based on the complaint, the local administration mobilized police to find the leopard that has been creating havoc by attacking children in their homes. Similar complaints had been received to Chief District Officer Surendra Poudel from residents of Sandhikharka, Dhikura and Nuwakot. RSS
