KATHMANDU, Oct 20: The Government of Nepal is making preparations to organize a conference of foreign investors on coming March.
In a meeting with US Ambassador Alaina B. Teplitz on Thursday, Minister for Industry Nabindra Raj Joshi shared that formulation of necessary laws and policy to enable industry-friendly environment is underway and urged for the maximum participation of American investors in the conference.

Minister Joshi further shared that the Legislature-Parliament has recently endorsed the Special Economic Zone Act and Industrial Enterprises Act and other laws including Company Act, laws on foreign investment nd intellectual property are on due process of endorsement.
He said the laws on foreign investment has clearly defined the forms of foreign investment; an investment promotion board has been set up for attracting foreign investment and clear provisions have been specified to facilitate the flow of investment from Non-Resident Nepalis.
On the occasion, the US Ambassador suggested to secure the interests of the country (Nepal) and foreign investors while formulating laws on intellectual property rights, said Industry Minister's press advisory Pradeep Chapagain. RSS
