KATHMANDU, Feb 14: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has stressed promotion of promoting export in the country in the wake of the ballooning trade deficit.
President Bhandari said so while inaugurating the Nepal Entrepreneurship Summit-2019 jointly organized by the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Supplies and Ministry of Finance on Thursday.
President Bhandari underscored encouraging youths for developing entrepreneurship, creating conducive environment for investment, institutionalizing the government services and putting in place vocational training and exchange of ideas and experience on entrepreneurship in national, regional and international level.
The first-of-its-kind event is organized with the theme of "Federal Nepal: Opportunities for Investment and Growth' to boost entrepreneurship at the local as well as national level.

The event also aims to encourage Nepali people working abroad to return home and become an entrepreneur.
She spoke of the need to directly engage Nepali youths in the economic development through the entrepreneurship and exploit on their knowledge, skills and expertise to realize the government's motto of 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.
Stating that the new ideas, new technologies, and creative initiatives should be promoted, the President expressed her confidence that the Nepali youth too could compete in the world if the favorable environment was created for the enterprising and innovative youth.
She opined that the event would be crucial in identifying different problems for entrepreneurship development and finding out possible ways to tackle them.
Likewise, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Matrika Yadav, said that all should stand together in the campaign of prosperity by giving up the mentality of agitation.
Saying that the government was ready to create an environment conducive for investment, Minister Yadav said the government was ready to hold a discussion with entrepreneurs at anytime to resolve the problems surfaced in this sector.
Similarly, CNI President Hari Bhakta Sharma said that the private sector was ready to move ahead joining hand with the government for the economic prosperity in the country.
He also urged the provincial and federal governments to amend the existing laws in order to make it investment-friendly.
Different people would present working papers in the second session of the Summit. Minister for Industry of all seven provinces, industrialists and entrepreneurs across the nation have been participating in the Summit.
