Private schools hit by educational strike

Majority of private schools remain shut after All Nepal National Independent Students Union called astrike.

KATHMANDU, June 17:Most of the private and boarding schools in the Kathmandu Valley and other parts of the country remained closed today due to the educational strike called by All Nepal National Independent Students Union (ANNISU-Revolutionary) close to Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand ' Biplav'.

According to the Union, the strike was in protest against the arrest of its president Chiranjibi Dhakal and non-implementation of the agreement to return additional fees charged by private schools. 


Private and Boarding School Organisation of Nepal (PABSON) Chair Bijay Sambahamfe described the move to close schools in the name of getting own demands addressed a 'wrong one'. However, community schools continued their classes today. RSS
