DOLPA, July 5: The District COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (DCCMC) in Dolpa has decided to lift the ongoing prohibitory order in view of the declining number of COVID-19 cases.
The meeting was held on Monday at the District Administration Office with the Chief District Officer Madhav Prasad Dhakal and Chief of the District Coordination Committee Sher Bahadur Budha.
Chief District Officer Dhakal said the administration decided to lift the prohibitory order from July 6 following the decrease in the number of infections inside the district. However, health safety protocols will be strictly followed even as the prohibitory orders are lifted.
Prohibitory order withdrawn in Taulihawa
Despite the decision to lift the ban on the movement of ordinary public, the local administration has made it mandatory for people to wear masks while leaving their homes, maintain a safe physical distance with others and use sanitizers for their safety.
Similarly, decisions have been made to operate public vehicles in the district while following necessary health protocols. Public vehicles will have to carry passengers as per their seat capacity and without increasing fares for the public.
The administration has asked concerned local bodies to decide on the operation of education institutions by analyzing the risk of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection. All kinds of shops and hotels are also allowed to open following the decision.
The movement of the public in Dunai Bazaar, Tripakot, and Jufal Bazaar in the district has increased following the decision of local administration to lift the prohibitory orders. The local administration, however, has made it mandatory for people traveling to Dolpa from outer districts to show a negative PCR report to enter the district.
