KATHMANDU, Feb 27: Province 6 Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has secured 32 votes in his favor while six lawmakers voted against him.
Among 40 lawmakers in the Province 6, CPN-UML-20 and CPN (Maoist Center -13) lawmakers have cast their votes in favor of Shahi, who is also the PA member of the Maoist Center, in its fifth assembly meeting on Tuesday.

He was elected the Chief Minister on February 15 with the support of CPN- UML.
Seven lawmakers - Nepali Congres (six) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (one) - have cast their votes against Shahi.
As per the simple majority of the constitutional provision, the Chief Minister requires only 21 lawmakers to secure the vote of confidence.
The CM will have to secure the votes of confidence within 30 days from his election as the CM.
