KATHAMNDU: ‘Purano Dunga’ and ‘Chhakka Panja’ stole the limelight with multiple awards during the 5th National Film Development Company (NFDC) award held on Saturday.
For ‘Purano Dunga’, Rambabu Gurung and Upendra Subba bagged ‘Best Story’, Shailendra D Karki bagged ‘Best Cinematography’, Kaliprasad Baskota ‘Best Music’, Maotse Gurung ‘Best Actress in supporting role (male) while Menuka Pradhan bagged ‘Best Actress in supporting role (female).

While ‘Chhakka Panja’ bagged awards including ‘Best Film’, ‘Best Director’, ‘Best Actress’ and ‘Best Actress in comic role’ categories.
Stars dressed glamorously reached the Hyatt Regency to attend the award show that honored movies of 2073 in 21 different genres.
Another popular flick ‘Jatra’ received three awards while ‘Loot 2’ got two awards.
As debut artists Ayushman Desraj Shrestha Joshi was awarded for ‘Chapali Height 2’ while Shristi Shrestha got the same for her role in ‘Gajalu’. Internationally acclaimed ‘Dying Candle’ did not fail to bag an award from the jury.
Actress Manisha Koirala attended the ceremony as chief guest.
