Renu Dahal to contest for Mayor from Bharatpur Metropolitan City

KATHMANDU, April 4: Renu Dahal, politburo member of CPN-Maoist Centre and daughter of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has said that she would register her candidacy for the post of the Mayor from the Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

KATHMANDU, April 4: Renu Dahal, politburo member of CPN-Maoist Centre and daughter of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has said that she would register her candidacy for the post of the Mayor from the Bharatpur Metropolitan City.


At a time, when it was anticipated that Dahal would run for the post from Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), PM daughter Dahal has wished to contest for the post from her own home district. Recently, there was talk of town that she will run for the post from the KMC.

“There was a report in media that I might contest from Kathmandu. The locals from my district have urged me to register from my own native place”, said Dahal. “Even I am thinking to file candidacy from own district. However, the party has to decide on this issue. “


She claimed that, in recent days she has focused on the development issue of the Bharatpur Metropolitan City along with the political workout.


She is the only daughter of Prime Minister to be involved in active politics. She was the candidate for the election of second constituent assembly from Kathmandu area no. 1.
