KATHMANDU, Dec 28: Minister for Foreign Affairs Prakash Sharan Mahat on Wednesday said that there are no plans of deploying Nepal Army (NA) peacekeepers in UN peacekeeping missions under Indian Army.
“NA itself is an example of a skilled and successful peacekeeping agency. I would like to repeat that there are no situations of the national army being deployed under other countries for peacekeeping missions,” Minister Mahat said during a press meet on Wednesday.

He refuted media claims that India is pressing the government to deploy NA peacekeepers under its command.
“NA has already refuted the news as baseless,” he said, “It been doing its peacekeeping duties efficiently and with high commitments since 1958 and it will continue.”
