RASUWA, Sept 18: Temporary closure of Rasuwagadi border point due to landslides and rainfalls reduced revenue generation of good imported and exported to China in the first two months of this fiscal year.
The Rasuwagadi Customs Office said that revenue plummeted due to reduced vehicular movements. In July and August, the customs office had set a target of Rs. 500 and 900 million respectively. However, it could only collect Rs. 226 and 113 million respectively.

"On July, vehicular movements were slightly high so we could collect Rs. 226 million in revenue. However, on August, it dropped to Rs. 113 million," Gopal Koirala, chief customs officer said.
Provided that road conditions improve and vehicular movements increase, the customs office hopes to meet the targets On September.
Nepal imports clothes apples, footwear, rubber, handbags, leather shoes, vehicle batteries, UPS and plastic from China through the border. It exports idols, wooden materials, broom, bamboo chairs, cosmetics, toothpastes, noodles, pasta, juice, jam, chocolate, carpets and chew gums.
Around 250 trucks travel the border point after it opened in 2015.
