SAPTARI, Dec 4: A local leader at Chinnamasta Rural Municipality in Saptari district has been arrested on the charge of fleecing millions of rupees from a local woman and raping her in a false hope of getting her husband out of jail.
District Police Office (DPO), Saptari arrested Rastriya Janata Party ((RJP) Nepal's Saptari district treasurer Manoj Kumar Mehta of Lokharam of Chinnamasta Rural Municipality.

According to the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at DPO, Saptari, Bhavesh Rimal, cases on rape and fraud were lodged against Mehta and further investigation into the cases was underway.
RJP Nepal member Sunil Kumar Jha said that he came to know about the incident through a friend.
The victim's husband has been remanded in custody at the Rajbiraj Jail. According to the complaint filed by the victim, Mehta had fleeced more than one million rupees from the victim promising her to free her husband from the jail. RSS
