Rupandehi stuns MMC to enter final

JHAPA, Nov 25: Rupandehi XI stunned star-studded Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) 4-3 in tiebreaker on Thursday in the Sahara Surunga Gold Cup football tournament to fix the summit clash against departmental team Armed Police Force (APF).

JHAPA, Nov 25: Rupandehi XI stunned star-studded Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) 4-3 in tiebreaker on Thursday in the Sahara Surunga Gold Cup football tournament to fix the summit clash against departmental team Armed Police Force (APF).

In the match played at Surunga, the fate of the winners was decided directly from the spot after the regulation time finished in a goalless draw. After Sujal Shrestha and Nirajan Malla failed to convert their penalties, Manang crashed out of the tournament. Only Anil Gurung, Heman Gurung and goalkeeper Kiran Kumar Limbu scored in the penalties for the A division outfit.  


imilarly, Bikram Lama, Rajin Dhimal, Bimal Gharti Magar and goalkeeper Dilip Chhettri all converted their penalties for Rupandehi while Bijay Dhimal's shot was saved by Manang's goalkeeper Kiran. 

Rupandehi will vie against APF in the final on Saturday.
