BAJURA, July 14: The Sanfe-Martadi highway linking the Bajura district headquarter has been obstructed since this morning due to incessant rain.
Rain-triggered landslides in different parts of the highway have thrown the road traffic out of gear. The landslide at Amkot has damaged the road causing disruption of vehicular movement.
Boulders rolling down from above the steep hill have risked people's mobility on the road, shared Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Surya Thapa of District Police Office, Bajura.
Sanfe - Martadi Highway shut for compensation
Landslides are continually taking place in different parts of the highway including in Barjugad, Amkot, Tapada, Pani Naula and Olena.
DSP Thapa said that a team of Nepal Police personnel has been mobilized to clear off the road.
People's mobility is being affected badly due to the rain-triggered landslides and subsequent road obstruction every year. Locals have been facing problems with the lack of alternative roads.
Prices of daily essentials have gone up following the disruption of roads.
